2016 Makeup Must-Haves
I have always loved Makeup, and am always trying out new looks, products, and techniques. Here are some products I have fallen in love the past year with and highly recommend as "Must Have's" for the 2016 year!
BRUSHES / TOOLS
It wouldn't be my 2016 Makeup Must Haves if this guy wasn't included in this post. Although the Beauty Blender I have currently is not black, I am wanting to get either a black or white one so I can see my product tones better. If you have not used a beauty blender yet, go get one. MAKE YOURSELF USE IT A FEW TIMES BEFORE DECIDING IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. I HATED mine when I first used it, because I didn't know HOW to use it. If you use cream contouring - this must be a part of your routine. I have never used something to blend out foundations / concealer / hi lighter / contour so beautifully before, best makeup tool of all time.
This brush is AMAZING - and for just $3 it doesn't really get better then that. I use this for hi lighting, and powder contouring. The results are really soft and it bends products out softly, and flawlessly.
I use this brush so much I have 2. You can use it to get colour precisely in your crease, and then blend the entire lid area out. This guy is probably my favorite brush so far to date.
After having MAJOR issues with a few other eyelash curlers that I have used in the past, I have been extremely reluctant to use eyelash curlers. However, I have been using this one for a few years now, and as long as you remember to add new padding to it every so often, you get perfectly plumped lashes, without having to squeeze too hard, without tearing them off!
I am a newer fan of House of Lashes's products, however they have quickly become my favorite. They're full and flirty, and easy to apply with practice. I use them with the House of Lashes glue and apply with tweezers.
If I had to choose one eyeshadow palette to live with for the rest of my life, this would be it. It has 3 different tone sections, the left is neutral toned, the middle is cool toned, and the right is warm toned. You can create hundreds of eye looks using this Palette, as well as mix and match shades from all of the sections. The color payoff is incredible, and the formula is like baby power which yields incredible blending. I could talk about this Palette for days, it will be in my makeup kit for as long as its around, hands down.
I have spent about 19 years of my life drawing. Give me a pen styled eyeliner tool, and all of a sudden I have become pro at winged liner looks with extreme precision. Seriously. This is basically a felt tipped (or brush tipped depending which one you get) eyeliner pen. It isn't runny, doesn't smudge, and stays on without creasing even in humidity. I never want to try any other liner products, because I know this would be hard to beat.
I got a sample of this mascara when trying out some foundation from Chanel, (which is mentioned down below). First of all, the sample lasted me so long I used it for an entire month. Then, I fell in love and had to have it. This mascara gives you giant, full lashes, the color is super black, its waterproof (which I prefer), and the formula is super creamy. Mostly, I just adore the brush. It plumps the lashes without clumping, which is always a good thing.
If you are into makeup at all, Im sure you've hear of this product. This has changed my makeup experience completely. This product might take a bit getting used to especially if you don't full in your brows currently, just take it slow, don't use too much product ( I use the lid to wipe away excess product from my brush) and follow your brows natural shape. Tip : use more at the end of your brows, and less near the front, to give a more natural look. Top it with a brow mascara and your good to go!
This is such a handy product! I have it in two shades depending on the look I'm going for. I use it after applying the Dip Brow, just to tame my longer brow hairs, and keep the shape in place. Plus, it helps lock everything underneath and reduce smudging though the day. Sometimes, I wear this by itself for a more "natural brow" look.
So I have a minor self confidence issue with my upper lip. I have a nice pouty lower lip, but my upper lip department is lacking slightly. Then I remembered this product and decided to give it a go. I quickly fell in love, and really noticed a difference when using it - especially when I wore it to shoots. I would wear this over chapstick, and loved the effects. Many people hate the "burning / tingling" sensation it brings, but its not actually painful, its just not normal, and it just means its working. Obviously it isn't permanent, Its just a temporary swelling that makes your lips more plump, but I like it and what it does without the commitment to actual injections. The results are not "that" different, but it does give the appearance of fuller lips.
I currently only own the color "posh spice", but of corse wish I owned every color! This formula is amazing. It is super creamy, doesn't dry my skin, doesn't come off while eating, but when its ready to take my makeup off for the day it does easily remove with makeup wipes.

So, this is simular to the Jeffrey Star products, BUT there are some differences. This product is much more thick, in my opinion. Its very creamy, applies beautifully, and has amazing pigment. I have a few different shades of this product and let me just say - this one will not come off. I can kiss my fiance and its still on my lips, and not on his cheeks. I adore it!
So I briefly mentioned this above, I stopped by the Chanel counter just to try out some products, and was given a few samples. one of which, was this. I quickly fell in absolute love once it touched my skin, because it felt like the softest water being applied on my face. It was the softest feeling I have ever felt, and when I am done putting it on, I feel like I am not wearing anything at all, its amazing. My skin can breath when I wear this, there is a colour for my pale skin, it covers everything I need covered, but still allows my freckles to show. I give it a quick cover with translucent powder to lock it all in and am good to go!
I always have to watch myself when using this hi lighter, because it is VERY intense. The payoff is incredibly strong, so a quick dusting is all I need. Its perfect for dewey skin looks, and makes me feel angelic.
This is such a great product - especially when you have pale skin like me! Its so straightforward to use, and so easy to blend, (especially if you have beauty blender).
Of course, there are many many more products that I love and could recommend, not all are mentioned here, because the page would never end! I hope you found some things you might want to try out, and maybe even have some new favorites of your own! If you do, please leave me a comment below, telling me what you tried and what you thought! I'd love to hear what worked for you!
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed!
